Events for Prospective Students to the Department of Counseling

The Department of Counseling is offering several events for prospective students to the Department of Counseling.

Grad Preview Week:

  • Tuesday, October 22, 2-3 p.m.: Department of Counseling tabling in person in Jack Adams Hall, Cesar Chavez Student Center (SF State Campus)
  • Wednesday, October 23, 7-8:15 p.m.: Master of Science in Career Counseling on Zoom
    • This presentation session will introduce the Master of Science in Career Counseling program under the Department of Counseling at San Francisco State University, one of the only six career counseling programs accredited by The Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) in the country.
  • Thursday, October 24, 7-8 p.m.: Master of Science in Counseling, College Counseling Specialization on Zoom
    • Conversation hour with students and faculty in the Department of Counseling. Inviting anyone considering becoming a professional counselor specializing working with college and university students

November Information Session for Prospective Department of Counseling Graduate Programs:

  • Thursday, November 14, 6-7 p.m. (Zoom): Want Specific Information about Applying to the Department of Counseling Graduate Programs? Follow these Steps!
    • Step 1: Carefully review the information on the Department of Counseling website including the Admissions page and the Academics page where you will find detailed information about our Specializations.
    • Step 2: Sign up to attend November Session: Thursday, November 14th, 2024 between 6pm to 7pm (sign up here)
      • The Information Session present an overview of the program and the admissions process as well as answers to the most frequently asked questions. Questions are taken from prospective students who submit questions to be answered by our department chair. (Questions from previous sessions are included). The FAQ page has been updates to include these questions and answers. 
      • Department of Counseling, Information Session welcomes persons with disabilities and will provide reasonable accommodations upon request. If you would like reasonable accommodations for this event, please contact applymsc@sfsu.edu as soon as possible so your request may be reviewed.
