( She/Her/Hers )Melissa Bowman, M.A., M.S., LMFT is a proud San Francisco State multi-alumni! B.A. in Philosophy and Humanities (1993), M.A. in Humanities (1995), and M.S. Counseling (MFT Concentration) with a specialization in Gerontology (2010).
Melissa is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in private practice with an office in Alameda. She is passionate about her work with Seniors and is always interested in sharing her experiences and inspiring others to work in the field.
Melissa is thrilled to be teaching in the Counseling Department and is one of the first online instructors in the program! In addition to teaching psychopharmacology (COUN737) online, she has also taught the first (COUN736) and second year (COUN890 & 891) internship courses. Melissa feels honored to be teaching in the Counseling Department and to help train the next generation of psychotherapists!
