Glenda Ortez-Galan
Glenda is a proud graduate of SFSU's Department of Counseling, with a concentration in School Counseling. She has over 17 years of direct school counseling experience in the Sequoia Union High School District (SUHSD) as a school counselor and head counselor at both large and small schools in the district. She is currently SUHSD's Counselor on Special Assignment (COSA) where she is tasked to support the district's implementation of a comprehensive school counseling program. Glenda is an original member of the SUHSD's Equity Design Committee, which led to the creation of an equity framework for the entire district. As a proud daughter of Salvadoran immigrants, Glenda understands the complexities around navigating the K-12 school system and always leads with an equity lens in mind. Glenda is looking forward to sharing her experience and passion for school counseling with her students in the Department of Counseling. Glenda is a member of the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), the California Association of School Counselors (CASC), and the Western Association for College Admission Counseling (WACAC).
