Kate McSpadden

Kate McSpadden, JD, MA, LMFT earned her Master of Arts in Marital and Family Therapy from the University of San Diego, her Juris Doctor from Columbia University School of Law and her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin where she majored in Plan II Honors and Psychology and minored in Spanish Literature.  Kate is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a private practice in San Carlos, CA.  Kate works with teens, adults, couples and families and utilizes an integrative, strength-based approach offering compassionate and individualized, culturally sensitive care.  Kate is passionate about working with perinatal mood disorders, fertility challenges, trauma and providing gender affirming care to gender expansive youth and their families.  

Kate’s previous experience in various clinical settings includes private practice, corporate onsite at a large Silicon Valley technology company’s headquarters, elementary school-based, at a non-profit agency and in a primary care collaborative health setting. Kate brings a warmth and compassion as well as her many life experiences, including a previous career as an attorney, to her work as a psychotherapist. Kate enjoys spending time with her family and five pets, hiking, gardening and practicing yoga.
